Leigh Ann's Koi

This is a start to a new Koi painting I did today as a demo for an Art student. This is the first stage to the wet into wet technique I use to paint these Koi.

I will ultimately use a variety of techniques such as direct painting, glazing, negative painting, splattering and scrubbing or lifting out. The final painting will take at least one more session to complete. check back with me for the updates.

This is another in the Ancient Ritual Series which is exploring the use of ritual in our lives to mark the passing of time and events in our lives.

I had a good time at Cheap Joe's today and I will be teaching a class there soon.

I started this Koi yeserday and let it sit for awhile, when I came back to it I noticed a blue mark near one of the koi's mouth, apparently I kept switching back and forth beteen Koi paintings and I must of dropped my brush. oh well...I"ll fix it later. i'll be sure to put it up when it is done.
