The background is really white... I need to get these finished while its daylight cause my indoor lights seem  to all have some reflective qualities.  

I guess I didn't get painting this rose out of my system... This looks strangely like yesterday's painting...  well thats because I painted it with the same palette.  Hope you enjoy!

This is a new series I'm painting. Basically a pond and some Lilllie's. I may sneak in a Koi here and there. I will be incorporating my brighter palette ...so it will be a la Monet but the colors will be pure Shanti Marie. I hope you check in with me each day to see what I've painted, I rarely miss a day (Since August 2006) and if I do I have usually painted a painting but then didn't have time to post it. Often, falling asleep fully dressed, paint in my fingernails and at least one lab sleeping at my side. After a long day of work and scrambling to paint only to miss my posting deadline. Aghh! Its all worth it! I hope you enjoy my blog and thank you for stopping by.

Sunflower Suprise Watercolor ACEO

Since my watercolor class is painting ACEO's tomorrow I thought it would be fun to paint one to see how long it took and I needed one to show with the wet into wet technique.
Since I painted it wet into wet, I wasn't sure how much of it would stay and how much would melt into the other shapes. I had to keep pulling the blue out of the yellow where the two color collided it became green!

Still waiting

Still waiting was actually painted several years ago and was a result of watching Zoltan Szabo paint something like this. It was a tree with a yellow ribbon in snow. It reminds me of how things change and yet stay the same. Here we are again tying ribbons around trees waiting and hoping that the troops come home.
I repainted it and decided to put it up for the painting of the day for the 25th of April 2007.

Abstract cityscape- a painting a day

I decided just to put together some ideas I had for a city scene, its a bit abstract. The trees were done in the similar style as in the last painting.
