Koi in Sepia
This painting is 6" by 9" and is painted only with one color, Sepia. I had to get out of bed this morning at 3:30 (so I could get everything done including my painting) so I figured I would paint something a little more tonal than colorful. I think this looks like an old JapaneseInk painting or a black and white photograph.
I like it. $50.00 shantmarie@aol.com for inquiries

Shanti,
I love this! It is so easy to make water sparkle with sepia. I have done a whole series of sepia portraits done from vintage family photos as well as I think sepia lends itself to farm landscapes. It is great fun to work with and seems effortless when one doesn't have to make color choices. I try not to let myself paint more than one at a time, though, lest I want to switch totally to sepia for everything, that wouldn't do!
