collage on clayboard

4 by 4 acrylic on tissue paper mounted on claybord

This image is a piece of clay board ( ampersand) covered in one of my painted papers. So I guess you can say this is a collage.

Large work in progress

oil1

If you have been wondering where I've been.... as you can see from this photo ( my husband was actually taking a picture of the puppy but since I was painting I'm in the pic too...)
I've been working on a very large oil painting. This is just in the second stage and is going well. You can see it a little better on my other blog... http://h20color.wordpress.com In this photo, the colors are more true but in the photo on the other blog the painting has sunlight striking the surface from an overhead skylight which makes it difficult to see the true color because of the refractive nature of Oil paint when wet. so I guess you have to see both one to see the colors and one to see the entire painting. I will continue to work on this and post updates.

Ancient Ritual #133

DSCF2285

8 by 10 oil on wood 75.00

This series seems to never end. I was planning to paint a red sunset over the lake. I’ve been doing a lot of blue water paintings and thought it would be nice to go to the red side of the color wheel.

After I got the yellow, red and gold on the panel one stroke led to another and all I could do was paint this painting. It took me about a minute to see the sunset wasn’t in the plans for the daily painting. If your new to this series it’s about customs and how we celebrate life’s events and the passing of time with rituals.

can you find the koi?

Lake Wylie Memories

lake paintings
8 by 10 oil on wood panel $75.00
Here the painting is as a close up, as you can see it has a bit of reflective shine on the left side of the photo this will not be on the painting after tomorrow, its just that I had to use a flash since I finished it late and it was dark.

I was... as always busy today but had an unexpected surprise, my husband Art, brought home a beautiful aquarium and 20 tiny, tiny fish and a bunch of live plants. I set it all up and spent a couple of hours "playing" with it. I've owned many tanks over the years and really enjoyed watching the tropical fish swim about and discover their new home.

Running River, Magic Falls

This oil painting is so fresh its isn't photographing well. Its reflecting back. I'll try to take another photo of it, the trees in the background are really nice. I want you to be able to see them.
