Abstract Art Collage in Blue - a painting a day

I completed this painting over the weekend. It is made from hand painted tissue paper, gessoed paper which was painted with watercolor and ink, a photo transfer and some nylon mesh. This is mounted on Mat Board.

I really like this painting/collage. What inspired it - are the black calligraphic marks related to Chinese writing or am I just reading extra dimensions into the image? Thanks for visiting my site by the way. IHave been so busy I've not posted. Great weather here in Wiltshire, UK, a late Indian Summer and warmest temperatures since records began in the 15th century apparently.

The black marks are not asian writing but my impression of asian writing. I love the way the calligraphis marks look in the vertical format.
Its difficult to produce art in a workshop. The instuctor demonstates a technique, then all the students rush back to their tables to try the technique only to find they have no real genuine ideas. (is that redundant?)
I don't think the instructor cared for this piece, she felt it was a bit dark, hence the many light colored pieces of paper over the dark areas.
I am glad the weather is warm, I hear you have more than your share of gray days.

Interesting you have an instructor, are you doing a course then? You have so many ideas you should be an instructor too.
Yep! Raining today and pretty grey at times though we had sun too. The spell is broken and I don't look forward to the winter, The sun makes me want to go out to paint but grey days are less inspiring. I did a quick painting the other day but wasn't that happy with it so no posting. Still I'll get out there soon again.
