Little Koi - A painting a day

This little koi was painted in a dry direct approach. I like to paint Koi, there are so many ways to paint them.

I saw about 30 Monet's today and I really enjoyed his work. It was fascinating to me to see his progression thru the years from value painter to impressionist to loose almost garish work. I was also surprised to see so much grey was in his work. Most of his colors were greyed down quite a bit. A snow scene I really like had no pure white paint.
